Is There An Alligator at Kaipapa`u? The Ho`ulu Hou Project: Stories Told By Us Shawna M. West, Ka Hui O Ke Kula Kaiapuni O Hau`ula
The name “Alligator Pond” is celebrated by the imagination of the children of Hau`ula; that this rock formation near a favorite swimming area resembles the body of an alligator. No one knows where the name originated, but this beach area has been known as Alligator Pond for a very long time. Today, it’s a place where the neighborhood comes to enjoy and relax at the ocean, and will always remain a special place to the people of Kaipapa`u.
